Carrie and Sidney spent the rest of their day off shopping for the baby and working on the nursery even though it was still a little ways off before Carrie gave birth to their baby. They had fun and it was quality time spent together as a couple.
"I think we did a great job with the nursery" declared Sidney as he put his arm around Carrie's shoulders and admired their work.
"I totally agree. It looks perfect and I love it" Carrie said as she leaned her head on Sidney's chest.
"We are a good team" chuckled Sidney as he kissed the top of Carrie's head.
"Yeah and now I am starving so I am heading to the kitchen. Do you want anything, Sid?" asked Carrie as she walked out of the room.
"Let's just go over to that Italian place nearby so that you don't have to do anything."
"Hey I am not going to complain about that at all" Carrie said as she stood in the door way.
"Cool now go and get ready sweetheart" Sidney said as he followed her into the bedroom.
They enjoyed a nice dinner at the Italian restaurant. As they were leaving a few people stopped Sidney for autographs and pictures and he was ever the nice guy about it. As Carrie was waiting on Sidney, her cell phone rang and so she looked at her phone and it was Craig. Craig had finally gotten all of the paper work done and had just recently moved into his condo which was on a floor above Carrie's in her building.
"Hey Craig, how's the new place?" Carrie asked as she walked over to look at a store window.
"Oh its getting there slowly Carebear, which is why I am calling you. Would you like to come over and check it out tonight since I am going with the team on the road trip?" asked Craig.
"Yeah Sid and I are just leaving the restaurant as soon as he finishes talking with some fans, I would love to see your place."
"Cool well then just come on over when you get here, Carrie."
"We will so see ya shortly, Craig."
Sidney had finally finished signing autographs and taking pictures and he looked for Carrie and then saw her talking on the phone. She had ended up by Sidney's car waiting on him to finish. When he got closer she had hung up the phone and looked in his direction and smiled.
"You finished with you fan club" Carrie asked jokingly.
"Yeah I am. Who were you talking to on the phone?" Sidney asked casually as he opened her door to the car.
"Craig and he wants us to stop by and see his place when we get back. Is that ok with you?"
"Yeah that's fine."
Sidney and Carrie got back to the condo and headed over to see Craig's place. They got to his door and knocked and a few minutes later the door opened and Craig invited them into his place. It looked just a bachelor pad with leather couches and a couple of recliners. Carrie was impressed at how nice it looked even though it was Craig's pad.
"Who in the world did you get to decorate this place so fast, Craig?" Carrie asked in amazement as she wandered around the condo.
"The real estate agent gave me a couple of names and I went with the one I liked the best and viola 'Chez Addison" Craig said animatedly.
"Its really cool, Craig" Sidney said as he checked out everything too.
"Thanks guy and its so nice to have my place now. Have a seat guys and can I get you guys anything to drink?" asked Craig.
"No I am fine" Carrie said as she sat down on the couch.
"Yeah I am good too. Thanks man" Sidney said as he sat down next to Carrie and put his arm around her shoulders.
"So Sidney are you ready for the game on Saturday?" asked Craig as he sat.
"Yeah I am ready and its going to be hard but we are up to it, I believe" Sidney said.
"I am looking forward to being on the road with you guys and practicing too. Its going to be an interesting trip" Craig said.
"Yeah it is" agreed Sidney.
"And I am happy because I get some quiet time here in Pittsburgh" smiled Carrie.
"You are going to miss me big time and all my noise and you know it doll face" Sidney laughed as he kissed her temple.
"Yeah whatever Sid. Anywho I am tired so I think we need to get on back to my place but I will be back here again. I promise Craig" Carrie said as she stood up. Craig and Sidney stood up too. Carrie gave Craig and hug and he shook Sidney's hand. Then Sidney and Carrie headed downstairs to Carrie's condo.
When they got into the condo, Carrie headed straight to the bedroom and started to get ready for bed. It was not that late but Carrie was exhausted with all they had been doing today and so was Sidney. They got into bed and snuggled up together.
"Good night doll face. I love you" Sidney said as he held Carrie close to him.
"Good night hot shot and I love you too" Carrie said as she leaned up to kiss Sidney and he happily kissed her back.
The next morning Sidney had to get up early and head to the airport for his trip to Detroit. He did not want to go without Carrie but he knew she needed to stay put in Pittsburgh. Sidney was quiet as he got ready to let Carrie sleep even though she would be up shortly for work anyway but he still wanted her to sleep for a little while longer. While Sidney was in the shower, Carrie woke and went into the bathroom and opened the door to the shower.
"Hey loser save me some hot water, please" Carrie joked.
"If you join me then we can save lots of water" Sidney suggested seductively.
"Not this morning because neither of us wants to be late" Carrie said as she shut the door on Sidney and went about her morning business.
Sidney finished his shower and got out and grabbed a towel and then got ready for the day. He walked out into the bedroom and smelled that Carrie was making something in the kitchen. He got dressed and headed to the kitchen.
"Wow something smells yummy."
"Its just scrabbled eggs, sausage and toast. I am going to go and shower now that you are done."
"Did you eat something sweetie?"
"No I am not hungry and I just threw up again but maybe after I shower and get dressed, I will eat something. OK Sidney."
"Fine but I just want to make sure you are taking care of yourself and the baby."
"I am fine and I will eat later. I promise."
"You better or else."
Carrie got into the shower and it felt so good and she let the water fall around her. After she dried off and then got dressed for the day. She then walked into the bedroom to find her bag and get it ready. By then she was now starting to get hungry and so she headed into the kitchen where Sidney was reading the paper and drinking another cup of coffee. Carrie sat down and ate some breakfast and Sidney smiled. They finished breakfast and then left the condo and headed to the parking lot. Sidney and Carrie went together to the arena because a bus was going to take everyone to the airport for their trip and Sidney did not really want to leave his precious Range Rover in the parking lot for the three days there were gone so Carrie would take it home and that made Sidney feel better. Sidney saw the bus and he and Carrie walked over to it.
"Doll face you take care of yourself and our baby while I am working hard" Sidney said as he pulled Carrie into a hug and kissed her forehead.
"I will and we will be fine. You have a good time and have a super game. I will be watching at home" Carrie said as she looked up at Sidney.
"I know you will be watching and I will call you. Probably more than you want me to but I can't help myself. I love you so much" Sidney said as he leaned down and kissed Carrie deeply.
"Oh please will you two get a room so that we don't have to watch you to getting it on" joked Max Talbot as he walked over to where they were standing.
"Yeah I really don't need to see my twin sister and her boyfriend making out" joked Craig as he walked over too.
"Whatever guys. I don't mind showing PDA with my girl so deal with it" Sidney declared.
Carrie just blushed and buried her head in Sidney's chest as he held her.
Carrie and Sidney kissed once more before he got onto the bus with the rest of the guys. Carrie watched as the bus headed off to the airport and then she headed inside where there were several of the Pittsburgh Penguins office people working. She went to her desk and got started on her day.

The next morning Sidney and Carrie woke up late and neither one of them wanted to get up so they just snuggled in the bed. It was a lazy Thursday morning and they both had the day off so they were going to enjoy it with each other. Because Friday morning Sidney and the rest of the Penguins were headed to Detroit for game 5 of the Stanley cup finals. Sidney had ideas of what he wanted to do with Carrie for their lazy day together and that was to stay in bed all day and not move. Sidney was in series playoff mode and Carrie was busy too with all the media coverage and everything, they really did not have much time together. But Sidney was determined to have a romantic evening with his girlfriend no matter what. One day while Carrie was running around tracking down players for different media interviews, she stopped by her desk at one point and saw a huge bouquet of roses. It was amazing and beautiful and so she looked at the card. It said, 'Carrie, I know I have been busy in playoff mode but I want you to know that I love you more than anything. Hot Shot". Carrie laughed as she read the card and knew that Sidney meant every word.
Carrie realized that ever since she had told him about her past abusive relationship, that Sidney was even more attentive towards her needs and desires. Sidney was also very protective of her and the baby. He was not happy when the reporters and paparazzi tired to get pictures of them sometimes. As Sidney said there is a time and a place when pictures are fine but when they were trying to do personal errands or appointments, there was no need to take pictures.
Carrie was luckily have an easy pregnancy. Sidney was really excited about becoming a father. The nursery in Carrie's condo was slowly coming together and it was fun buying stuff for the baby. They were going to get the first pictures of their baby at the next appointment and they could hardly wait.
That afternoon Sidney was at practice but at the same time when he had a break he would be on his cell phone making his plans for his romantic date with Carrie. Carrie had no idea what Sidney had planned so she was busy thinking about what there was to watch on TV and have for dinner. Then a ringing brought her back to the reality of work and she looked and then realized it was not her work phone but her personal cell phone. Carrie looked at her phone and then smiled.
"Hey loser what do you want?" joked Carrie as she laughed into her phone.
"I hate to lose doll face and you know it" Sidney said seriously.
"Yeah I know. What's the deal with calling me? We are in the same building and you could save yourself a call and find me at my desk."
"Actually I am not in the building."
"Where are you then, Sidney?"
"Meet me at the condo when you are done there" Sidney said mysteriously.
"What have you done to my condo, Mr. Crosby?" asked Carrie worriedly.
"Just meet me there!" Sidney demanded.
"Excuse me, who do you think you are?" asked Carrie seriously
"I am your boyfriend and the father of your child and I love you so when can you be here doll face?"
"I am actually going to be leaving in about 10 minutes, hot shot" Carrie said as she started getting things ready for her to leave for the day.
"Awesome! Can't wait to see you, Carrie."
"See ya very soon."
Sidney had gotten everything ready for their special evening and was really looking forward to being with Carrie especially since they were heading out for a road trip. Now usually Carrie would go with them on road trips but this time, Carrie was going to handle things from Pittsburgh end. Plus she it was just easy for her because of her pregnancy. Sidney hated that Carrie was not going on this trip but it was a short trip and that is why they were having this special date. Sure enough, Carrie showed up about 20 minutes later and he greeted her at the door.
"Hey beautiful" Sidney said as he took her bags from her and set them down and then pulled her into his arms and held her as he kissed her deeply. Then Sidney lead Carrie over to the table that had an amazing centerpiece of flowers. Carrie was totally surprised by everything. Dinner turned out to be Chinese food which of course was Carrie's favorite. Sidney and Carrie talked about the upcoming road trip he was heading on, the baby and their relationship. After dinner they cleaned up together.
Then Sidney told Carrie to close her eyes because he had another surprise as he lead her into the bedroom. Sidney finally told Carrie to open her eyes and she looked at the bedroom and it had rose petals everywhere and there were candles all around the room too. Sidney then handed Carrie a box and she was a little suspicious but opened it anyway. It was as she had expected some sexy lingerie and she laughed.
"Are you serious, Sidney?" Carrie said shaking her head and rolling her eyes as she picked up the lacy outfit.
"Oh hell yeah, sweetheart. I suggest that you go and put it on now" Sidney said as he pushed her towards the bathroom.

A few days later the games were back in Pittsburgh with the series tied with each team winning a game. Sidney was playing extremely well and he was also happy because his old teammate and good friend Colby Armstrong was visiting him. Colby came up from Atlanta to hang out with Sidney and Carrie. Colby and Sidney went out one evening with some of the other guys from the team for a guys night out. Carrie was grateful for the peace and quiet after the guys left and she chilled out in front of the television and watched a movie. After a while Carrie went to bed kinda early because she was exhausted from all the activities they had been doing while Colby was visiting.
The guys got home and Sidney noticed that Carrie's condo was quiet and figured Carrie had gone to bed.
"Sidney that was so much fun hanging out with all the guys. I had a great time" Colby said as he sat down on the couch.
"Yeah no problem man. I figured you would want to see everyone" Sidney said as he sat too.

He knew she was exhausted and quietly got himself ready for bed and then slipped into bed next to her and pulled her close to his body and fell asleep.
The next morning Carrie woke up in Sidney's arms and smiled to herself but she needed to get to the bathroom because the baby was playing havoc with her bladder. She tried to move away from Sidney but he pulled her closer.
"Hot shot please let go of me for a moment. I really have to go to the bathroom" Carrie said seriously.
"Fine but you better hurry up and come back here" Sidney said with his eyes still closed.
"I will" Carrie said as she got up and headed to the bathroom.
Carrie came back and gently laid back down on her side to watch Sidney as he slept. A few minutes later he opened his eyes looking for her and when he saw her just watching him, he grabbed her and pulled her close to his body. Carrie giggled and snuggled up to Sidney. They both lay there and then all of a sudden they heard some banging noises coming from their kitchen area.
"What in the world is Colby doing?" Carrie said as she got up and grabbed her robe and headed out of the bedroom. Sidney got up and headed into the bathroom and then followed out after Carrie.
"Colby what are you doing to my kitchen?" asked a surprised Carrie as she looked at the mess Colby had made.
"I was attempting to make pancakes for breakfast as a surprise to you guys but I guess it did not work" Colby said looking sorry.
"Hey its cool, Colby. That was a sweet idea you had but I think we better just go out and eat something this morning" Carrie suggested.
Sidney came out and was laughing at the scene in front of him. He could not help but have a great laugh and knew this was ammunition he could use against Colby someday when Colby wanted to make some sort of smart remark about him. Colby just looked over at Sidney and shook his head in defeat.
"Nice work here Chef Armstrong" joked Sidney as he walked over to Carrie and held her to him.
"Shut up man. Hey at least Carrie was nice about my attempt to be a helpful guest" Colby remarked.
"You two need to chill out and let's all get ready for our day and go out for breakfast" suggested Carrie as she moved away from Sidney to start cleaning up the huge mess in the kitchen.
"Carrie don't worry about the mess. The two of us will clean it up and you get ready first" Colby said as he went to work cleaning too.
"Yeah doll face we got this" Sidney said as he kissed her and then directed her towards the bedroom.
"Fine" Carrie said as she walked to the bedroom.
The guys worked together to clean the mess up and finally it was a sparkling and perfect. Sidney and Colby nodded that the kitchen looked up to Carrie's standards and they both went off to get ready.
Finally they were all set and left the condo and headed to the restaurant. They had a nice time talking about the finals and everything else.
Colby stayed for one more day and then headed back to Atlanta. Sidney was happy that his good friend had come up for a fun visit.
The guys got home and Sidney noticed that Carrie's condo was quiet and figured Carrie had gone to bed.
"Sidney that was so much fun hanging out with all the guys. I had a great time" Colby said as he sat down on the couch.
"Yeah no problem man. I figured you would want to see everyone" Sidney said as he sat too.
Sidney and Colby talked for a while and finally they decided it was time to go to bed so they headed off to their respected rooms. Sidney found his sleeping beauty, Carrie. Best Friends Chapter 12
"Carrie, what is that you wanted to talk to me about exactly?" asked Sidney as he and Carrie sat close to each other as they ate dinner.
"Well this is kinda hard for me to talk about but its about a past relationship I had with a teammate of Craig's from our college days" Carrie explained as she took a deep breath and tears started forming in her eyes. Sidney hugged her closer to him and she snuggled close to Sidney as Craig continued what she was trying to explain.
"Yeah this guy, his name was Jack" Craig said and continued, "He seemed cool as person and teammate. Anyway he noticed my sister at some party we at and asked me if I cared if he ask her out and I was like sure. And they started going out and from the outside everything seemed cool but he turned out to be an abusive jerk. He hit Carrie usually where no one would notice and she thought she deserved it. Then one night I got home to our apartment and found her with a black eye and bruises all over her all because she was not ready to have sex with him. Needless I talked with my teammates and our coach about Jack and then it was found out that some other girls had been hurt by him too. Our coach and his parents got him help and he left that college and went somewhere else so that is why I am protective of Carrie because she has been through a lot" explained Craig as he looked at Carrie and Sidney sitting together.
"I had no idea that happened. And I swear that I love you, Carrie and will never ever hurt you or our baby" Sidney said as he kissed Carrie's forehead.
"I know Sidney or else I would never had been your best friend and I love you too" Carrie said as she looked up at Sidney and smiled.
The three of them finished eating dinner and talked a little while longer. Sidney and Craig cleaned up after dinner so that Carrie could talk to her friend, Melanie, who happen to call as they were finishing dinner.
"Craig do you mind if Carrie and I have the place to ourselves tonight? I just want to be alone with her so we can talk" asked Sidney.
"That is cool man. I figured you two might want to be alone so I got myself a hotel room at the Hilton so its all good" Craig said.
"Thanks man I really appreciate that" Sidney said smiling as he saw Carrie walking towards them.
"Hey guys what's up?" Carrie asked as she went to stand next to Sidney and then he pulled her to him and held her.
"Not much Carebear. I am outta here for tonight so I will see ya sometime tomorrow. You guys have a nice evening together" Craig said as he went over to get his bags.
"Where are you going Craig?" asked Carrie as she moved away from Sidney.
"I am going to be at the Hilton tonight. I had a feeling after we all had our chat that you two would want some time to be alone to talk about things" Craig said as he went over to Carrie an gave her a hug.
"OK Craig well have a good night and I see you later then" Carrie said as she walked back over to Sidney.
Craig left and Sidney and Carrie headed back to the living room and sat down on the couches to talk. After a little while Sidney pulled Carrie so that they could be more comfortable on the couch and watched a movie. Carrie fell asleep in Sidney's arms and that is when Sidney woke her up so that they could go to bed. When they got in the bedroom Sidney pulled her close to him and Carrie looked up at him and they kissed and helped each other out of their clothes. Sidney then picked Carrie up and gently laid her down on the bed. Carrie pulled Sidney down towards her and they kissed again. Sidney made love to Carrie very passionately and gently because he wanted her to know that she was loved and cherished. Sidney moved off of Carrie and held her tightly and whispered into her ear, "I love you doll face." Carrie snuggled and whispered back, "I love you to Hot Shot" and they fell asleep together.

Best Friends Chapter 11
The next day Carrie and Craig were hanging out at her condo on the balcony. It was a really nice day in Pittsburgh and they were just talking and relaxing.
"Carebear, I found a cool bachelor pad that I am going to buy. I can't wait to show it to you. I think you are going to like it and its actually here in this building. Can you believe that of all the places the real estate agent showed me there ended up being one right here. How perfect!" Craig said as he took a sip of his water.
"Wow that's great Craig. I am so glad that you will be nearby" Carrie said happily.
"Yeah and I think the parentals will be happy too that we live near each other."
"Speaking of the parentals, that reminds me of something. Sid and I were talking yesterday at lunch and he really thinks that you are not cool with the fact that we are dating and having a baby. I really want the two of you to get along for my sake."
"Carrie, you know why I am so overly protective of you. I know you want to forget what happened when you dated my teammate, Jack."
Carrie looked at Craig and the feelings of what she had been through showed up again and she hated that. She felt the tears spring up in her eyes and she tried to stop them but they came pouring out.
"Oh Carrie I am sorry for saying that but you know its something that Sidney needs to know about" Craig said as he pulled Carrie into a hug.
"Its...its...I know he needs to know but I don't know if I can...god I can't even talk about it because it still hurts" Carrie said through her tears.
"I know its hard to talk about and believe me I hate the guy just as much as you do but I can say that he got what he deserved for what he did to you. And I can't thank my other teammates enough for helping me make sure he realized that you don't hurt women ever" Craig explained as he still hugged his twin sister.
"Yeah you guys really did do an number on him" Carrie said with a slight smile.
"So would you like me to tell Sidney what happened with Jack or we can both tell him?" asked Craig.
"I want you to be there when I tell him" Carrie said as she pulled away from Craig.
"I will be there."
"Let me call him and tell him to bring dinner and we can talk then. Is that cool with you?"
"Yeah Carrie, that works fine"
Carrie went and got her cell phone and called Sidney.
"Hey doll face, I was just thinking about you. What's up?" asked Sidney as he walked to his car.
"I was hoping that you would get some dinner for me, you and Craig and bring it here because I have something to talk to you about" Carrie said.
"Is everything ok with us?" asked Sidney worriedly.
"We are perfect Sidney. I promise. I love you" Carrie said seriously.
"OK I love you too Carrie. I think I know what you want for dinner. Can I say Chinese?" joked Sidney as he got into his car.
"Oh my god yes Sidney."
"Since you are extremely happy about that then maybe we will need to kick Craig out early so we can have some alone time after dinner" Sidney said slyly as he started to drive out of the parking lot and headed toward the Chinese restaurant to get dinner.
"Well maybe if you are a 'good boy' we can have some fun later" Carrie said seductively.
"Oh god baby don't talk like that because I will have to have you as soon as I see you" laughed Sidney.
"Whatever hot shot now get the dinner so that we can talk and then if you are good we can have some fun later. I love you Sid. See ya in a few."
"Love ya too doll face. See ya" Sidney said as he hung up his phone.
About half an hour later Sidney showed up at Carrie's condo with Chinese food. Craig helped Sidney bring the food into the kitchen as Carrie sat on the counter and watched them get things situated. Sidney walked over to where Carrie was sitting and stood in front of her and pulled her off of the counter into his embrace and kissed her deeply. After the kiss Carrie smiled at Sidney and they both got some food and went into the living area so that the three of them could talk.
